Budget Host Parkway Motel

There was a fridge and microwave in our two-bedroom room with two queen beds, and the water got hot. That's about where the positives end. Nothing at all has been updated, and for the price, they really need to invest in a major upgrade before charging upscale hotel rates. I've traveled a lot and never paid more than $75 for a motel room in any state, including my own. Different websites give different information, so call before you arrive or you could end up in a big argument.

The view of the nearby mountain was breathtaking when we stepped outside in the morning. We stayed here in the spring of 2014, and got one of the rooms they'd been remodeling. It was very clean, nicely furnished, and quite nice. The owner was friendly and helpful with travel information.

Barking dogs kept us up all night, and the broken air conditioner was so loud it sounded like a hazard alarm. The shower wouldn't drain, the bed was the worst, and there was no remote, so we only had one channel. Our non-smoking room was full of cigarette smoke and smell. The manager was unfriendly, nearly rude. Pay the extra $10 and stay somewhere else. I will next time. Worst two-star motel experience I've had.

The bed seemed like it had been there since the motel opened, and the room felt like stepping back into the past. It was musty in one corner. I was glad I'd brought Febreze, or we would have slept in the car. This was the only motel where I didn't complain about the price, but I still wouldn't recommend it. Keep driving until you find somewhere that's in the future.
