Comfort Inn Livingston

The desk clerk was very nice, and the bed was clean. Still, $150 felt overpriced for a hotel of this caliber. Wi-Fi and TV didn't work, there was a dirty washcloth left hanging in the shower from the previous guest, and the hallway smelled strongly of marijuana. The clerk also told me it would've been cheaper to book online, even though I'm a Choice member.

I still don't have my Garmin smart watch. I left it in the bathroom, and an hour after I checked out the next day, someone called and asked whether I wanted to pick it up or have it mailed. I asked them to mail it. She said it was in the manager's office and that I'd get a call, but I never did. Over the next few months I called several times trying to reach a manager. She was unpleasant and rude, said she couldn't find it, and threatened me. I apologized. Twenty minutes later she called back to say she'd found the watch, but couldn't mail it unless I sent her a prepaid, pre-labeled package. It never got returned. I stopped there on my way home from a road trip to TX. It was the 4th of July, I was exhausted, and the only affordable hotel was too many miles away to keep driving. The room looked like a break room, and half the bed seemed to have been slept in. I was too tired to care, brought my own vacuum, and slept on the other half.

The floors had lots of wet spots, and the sink was wet too, as if someone had just cleaned and mopped everything and left it damp. I checked in around 8 pm. The room was generally comfortable, though nothing special. It had thin walls, or more specifically, a shared suite door, and I could hear my neighbors talking for hours. I usually like Comfort Inn locations, but this one surprised me in a bad way. It's tough to recommend staying here.

I'm adding a star after our last stay. The room was clean, and the people here are always nice. The kitchen was in better shape for “breakfast” this time.
