Motel 6 Livingston, TX

I wouldn’t recommend this place. Our family rented two rooms, and the front desk staff seemed nice. The tiny appliances appeared rusty, though they worked. The AC in each room only cooled one side and smelled moldy. One toilet didn’t work, and neither bathroom looked like it had ever been deep cleaned. There was black mold all around the top of the shower. The shower worked, if you could fit under the head, which might be hard if you’re over about five feet tall. After it got wet, the curtain had big pink patches. I’m sure that’s fine. One room had a warped, cracking floor and a constant musty smell. The motel had run out of shower soap, so the only option was tiny hand soap bars. We had to pull the bedding off one mattress to remove the loud, thick, crinkly factory plastic it was still wrapped in. Nice to have a brand new mattress, but who makes up a bed with that obnoxious stuff left on? Most things were at least functional, and I considered two stars, but given what we paid, I can’t justify more than one.

The mattresses were extremely uncomfortable, no thicker than cot mattresses, and the bed sat so close to the floor it felt like sleeping on the floor. They didn’t cover the whole platform, which is a safety issue. Avoid this motel at all costs.

Omg, I freaking love it here. Great prices and comfortable rooms, with good people on both the day and night shifts. Natashia makes the best coffee, and the management is great too. Best hotel yet!

The manager was friendly and accommodating, and the motel was the cheapest nearby place that accepted dogs. I’d be more okay with the old room if the mattress weren’t so lumpy and uncomfortable. I barely slept. The floors hadn’t been mopped for a while, either; my feet got dirty walking across them, so I had to keep my flip-flops on. As a disabled senior who suddenly became homeless, I also found the tub very hard to get in and out of. There were no handicap rails in the bathroom. Please add rails for the shower.
