The hotel could use some upgrades, but the staff made us happy with our stay. We didn't eat there because we slept in and went to brunch, and there are lots of stores and restaurants nearby. After a tiring trip, Mr. Edward Motley made us feel like friends and family when we arrived. I first called from the airport to explain how exhausted we were and what we needed for check-in, which I'd also sent through the app. He was pleasant, said he'd seen my message, and was already arranging things for us. His warm, genuine, professional manner changed my day after a frustrating journey and helped us relax. That's the kind of service that keeps us choosing Marriott. He represents why I'm a Gold Bonvoy Member and expect to move up the benefit ranks. Thanks for having the right staff to help me unwind and enjoy the stay.

Princessodilia at the front desk of the Residence Inn by Marriott Detroit Livonia made me feel valued and welcome. She was patient, attentive, and ready to help with anything I needed. Her kind attitude and positive energy really stood out, and you could tell she takes pride in caring for guests. Thank you, Princessodilia, for making such a difference in my stay!

The room felt dated, and some of the light fixtures were damaged, so I would've given five stars otherwise. The staff and service were amazing, especially the young woman who runs breakfast. She checked that guests were okay and had enough to eat, even when they were still sitting there past breakfast hours. I really appreciated her. I also loved the popcorn in the lobby in the afternoon.

We ended up leaving early on the second night and heading to the airport because we couldn't sleep. The TV didn't work, the windows wouldn't stay open, and the room was 78°. The AC unit had a hole in the back going outside, and not all the lights worked. There was a hole in the bathroom ceiling, too, and the tub's soap dish was coming off the wall. They only clean the room every other day. My wife and I arrived Friday for a two-day stay and couldn't believe the condition of the room. I've never stayed somewhere this bad. I don't recommend this hotel at all.

Miss princess at the front desk helped us with our stay and brought us extra towels and linens. The employees were friendly and showed great hospitality. We had an excellent stay and will definitely return. Thank you, Miss Princess!
