Rodeway Inn Llano

I'd stay again. The staff were great, the bed was clean and comfortable, and the room had a coffee maker, microwave, and fridge. Wi-Fi was decent, and cable was fair, though I couldn't find a channel guide. I was in a single-story building, so there were no noisy upstairs guests. Breakfast was cereal, pastries, waffles, and microwave sausage, egg, and cheese croissants. Not bad for a Rodeway Inn.

The rooms have been renovated recently and look nice. The staff and owners are great, keeping the motel friendly and quiet. Best motel in town and good value.

We booked two rooms for a family getaway. Before the trip, we saw a previous review saying the property had been renovated two months earlier. On arrival, all the doors were open and wrapped in plastic and painters tape. Plastic covered the inside of one of our doors too, and we had to remove it before we could open and close the door. The card readers were taped over, with only a small slit left for inserting a card. In one room, only the AC fan worked, with no cold air. All the bed linens and towels were dirty and stained. One bed had a large dirty footprint on its sheets, and one pillow had a huge brown stain that looked like makeup. I wiped the floor with a washcloth, and it came away literally black. The property's ice maker wasn't working, and the pool had green and black algae all around it. There are very few options in this small town, and we would've left if another place for our family had been available. This property is unfit for rental and should be condemned by the health department. It was absolutely filthy. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY!

The room itself was nice, clean, and didn't smell of cigarettes. The furniture was very nice, the TV worked well, and the fridge was cold, though its freezer didn't freeze. But all we had on the beds were sheets, and we had to set the air conditioner just right so we wouldn't freeze. The shower curtain was moldy, and only hot water came from the tub and sink, with no cold water. When we booked, breakfast and a usable pool were listed. The pool was out of order and being fixed, and there was no breakfast because they were reconstructing all over the area. We'd accidentally booked a pet-friendly room, then called to explain that we were allergic to dander and fur. Pet-friendly rooms cost $10 more per person. They said they'd switch our room and take care of it, but when we arrived, they charged us an extra $20 for the non-pet-friendly room instead of refunding what we'd already paid. We had nowhere else to go, since the other hotels were booked or out of our price range.
