Econo Lodge Monticello

I like that it’s outside the city and usually has a room when I need one. It’s a little off the path, but that suits me. I’ve stayed here several times and it’s always been quiet, whatever side of the hotel I’m on. I pull a boat, so the plentiful parking works well. The rooms are dated, but everything works, and I don’t mind older furniture. This isn’t the Ritz Carlton, and I only need a bed and bathroom for an overnight stop. The beds have been clean, the staff friendly, and I’ve had no bed bugs or thefts. Rooms are mostly clean too, though the floors can be dirty, so wear shoes or sandals. I don’t expect a hotel to be super clean. I haven’t tried the breakfast, so I can’t comment on it.

Very quiet area and well worth the money. The room was nice and clean, and everyone was very friendly. The manager and assistant manager were there when I stopped while traveling through, and the owner was there too. The staff is all nice.

I got in after 9 PM while traveling alone, and the desk clerk offered to match the price and put me on the ground floor so I could park right in front of my room. That kind of service and attention to safety means a lot to me, and he went above and beyond. The room was clean and accommodating, and the hotel is conveniently located off the interstate. I’d recommend stopping here instead of driving on to Tallahassee, paying outrageous prices, and fighting traffic. Stellar service. Kudos!

We found a room here after most hotels were booked, when my sister and I decided to meet halfway in Tallahassee and spend some time together. The hotel was tucked away and very quiet. The staff were friendly, and the room was clean and nice, without any of those funny smells I’ve run into at a lot of hotels. The AC was already on, so it wasn’t scorching hot when we walked in. We’ll book here again next time we meet up.
