Steamboat Mountain Lodge

The rooms are quiet enough that I can actually get a good night's sleep, and the thick, cushioned hallway carpet helps. The hotel sits a few hundred feet off the highway, so traffic isn't an issue. I also loved the mountain atmosphere from all the trees and the views from the back deck. It's a few miles east of downtown, which suits anyone looking for a peaceful country setting. The room had a good size and layout, along with modern conveniences. I'll keep this place in mind if I visit Steamboat Springs again.

We'd definitely come back. The price was good, and the rooms felt clean and updated, with comfortable beds. Breakfast was nice, and the dining space was attractive, especially the porch and its view. I didn't use the hot tub since there are so many hot springs around, though it looked good. We were also able to use the big pool at the sister hotel next door.

The breakfast spread was fine overall, though there weren't many gluten-free choices. I liked the range of teas. We didn't try the on-site hot tub, but it looked inviting. Our double queen room was nice. The mattress wasn't to my taste, but hotel mattresses generally aren't, so I didn't count that against the stay. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash came in shower dispensers, though the conditioner dispenser didn't work.

I've never been one to write reviews, but this stay deserves one. This was my third time between this hotel and its sister property, and each visit has been lovelier than the one before. Our rooms and the property were impeccably clean, and staff were enforcing COVID protocols. Everyone I encountered during my stays was friendly and professional. I don't think I'll want to stay anywhere else.
