Lockhart Inn

I've been coming here for decades, and this is a two star motel. It's very old, though it's been a main motel for many years. I've had both good and bad visits, so don't expect much. Maybe I'm just worn out on this unduly bourgeois town. I still can't make sense of the stares and skittishness. Maybe it's me, and people here just think I look like a criminal. I might write a more thorough review another time.

The curtains blocked every bit of light, and the room was clean, tidy, and odor-free. I left my jacket behind and noticed about three hours after checkout. Thankfully we were still in Lockhart, and the cleaning woman found it for me. The bed was too soft for me, though my dad liked it. The A/C was loud, but in a white-noise kind of way.

We arrived at the front desk at 4am, and the staff helped us right away. The room was clean and comfortable, the A/C was great, and there was plenty of hot water. Housekeeping were friendly and even helped me throw out some trash. There are several restaurants nearby. The only nuisance was the groundskeeper using blower equipment at 7am. Otherwise, it was a great stay.

The room was clean, recently remodeled, and comfortable with working showers, plenty of hot water, a working fridge, and good A/C. This is an older motel, nothing fancy. Check-in was a little lackluster: we'd booked online days ahead, but our reservation wasn't there when we arrived. The office staff sorted it out quickly, though they gave us a double Queen instead of the King we'd requested. It's a decent, clean place to sleep for a night or two, in a central spot with plenty of good coffee and food within walking distance. The front parking lot felt a little sketchy at night because people were loitering there, but it was well lit, so it didn't feel dangerous.
