Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lockport by IHG

The pool was clean and surprisingly warm for the middle of winter. We had it to ourselves on a Saturday night, which was a treat. Dinner was easy to get, with a good food spot just down the street. The next morning, breakfast had plenty of choices, and the biscuits and gravy were especially good. My wife and I came for a date night and had a great time. The room was clean and smelled fresh, without that strong bleach odor some hotels have. The bathroom was nice, the shower pressure was strong, and soap was provided. They also offer free toothpaste at the front desk if you forget yours. The front desk staff were really friendly, and one of the guys chatted with us for about 35 minutes before we headed out to dinner. We’ll definitely return.

The room was nice, and the location was quiet. I’d stay again, but there are a few things I’d change. The washcloths were hung over the hand towels, and when I washed my hands after arriving, they fell onto the floor. The body wash and shampoo are mounted on the wall inside the tub, so you have to stand up to reach them and then get back in. Complimentary water for bottles or at arrival would be nice, like I’ve had at another Holiday Inn, though not at this one. I also wish the pool area had a whirlpool. Breakfast was good, and a smart TV would be useful so I could sign into Disney, Netflix, and other apps.

The fresh cinnamon rolls at breakfast were a tasty bonus alongside the usual continental choices. My husband and I found this little gem for a staycation and were pleasantly surprised as soon as we walked in. It looks almost brand new and is extremely clean. From check-in to checkout, the staff were friendly and answered all our questions with a smile. For a clean hotel in a good location with people who make it feel homey, I’d give it 10/10.

The fitness center was clean, the equipment was in great shape, and there was a good selection. Breakfast also had plenty of options, and the hotel coffee is freshly ground and brewed one cup at a time. There are lots of quick-service restaurants nearby. It’s a clean, quiet hotel, the rooms are well stocked, and the staff have all been friendly and welcoming.
