Red Roof Inn Sacramento - Elk Grove

My room is clean, warm, dry, and great. I had an issue, and Mahogany at the front desk took care of it in five minutes. She was sweet, thoughtful, kind, and helpful. The five stars are for her. Thank you.

We booked a king bed and asked for a lower-floor room because of our age. The website photo looked great, but what we got was a handicap room with a double bed and what looked like just a sheet over it. Luckily, we'd brought our own blanket. The pillows were worn, the floor was dirty, and the bathroom smelled of urine. When I complained at the desk, the staff member said all the rooms were booked and nothing could be done, even though the mistake was theirs. I wouldn't recommend Red Roof Inn to anyone.

I've stayed here several times, including once for two weeks for work, and I've enjoyed my visits. Check-in has always been easy and cheerful, the grounds are well kept, and parking is inside the compound and feels safe. The rooms are small but efficient and well equipped, with a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, ironing board and iron. They've been clean whenever I've stayed. Staff have been helpful, and breakfast is served from 6 to 9 a.m. There's also a covered outdoor washer and dryer, an ice machine, and a drink machine. There can be some noise for a short time, usually before 8, during the five stays I've had. Nearby fast food and several strip centers are close by or across the street. I've also seen some demanding, rude guests, though the staff have been helpful to everyone. I do recommend this Red Roof.

It's okay for a quick overnight stay. The room was small and a bit dumpy, and the inside looks worse than the outside. Sorry, owner, but lighter colors would make the rooms seem bigger and more pleasant. The TV was good, the ice machine was outside, and the grounds were pleasant. The busy street nearby didn't bother us. For food across the street, the burger place is fine for lunch but not dinner. Denny's would be better.
