Comfort Inn & Suites Tempe Phoenix SkyHarbor Airpt

We arrived for a reservation that covered three days so we could check in early, but the hotel had us marked as a no-show and had canceled it. They told us to book again and said Hotels.com could contact Comfort Inn to arrange a refund for the original booking. That turned out to be a lie. We paid over $1,000 for two nights in a hotel under renovation, across from a strip club, with the gym closed. Avoid this awful property. There are better options within a mile or two, and the area is better.

I’d booked ahead, but when I arrived they said the hotel was overbooked and made me leave. They called it loitering because I had no room and kicked me off the property. I’d flown in, had no vehicle or anywhere to go, and was stranded with my bags and dog. Staff just watched me while I waited for an Uber. They even threatened me to get me to leave. I had to pay more for another hotel, including extra fees for arriving too early. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had, and the place felt like a slum property being run like a drug house. I never expected a hotel to stoop this low. I hope the place is investigated and possibly shut down over corrupt business practices.

Candice greeted us really nicely when we arrived around midnight and was very accommodating. The hotel is being renovated, but it was surprisingly quiet and not too messy. The hallways and elevators were quite hot, while the rooms were cool and clean. It’s a good price for what you get and easy to find. Just look for the carvana vending machine.

After a delayed flight from NJ, I arrived at 4:20 a.m. and found nobody at reception. I clapped for about 10 minutes to get someone’s attention. A woman eventually came out and said the computers close at 3 a.m., so she couldn’t check me in. I explained what had happened, but she told me I’d need to find another hotel. Then the hotel charged my Amex, so I had to find somewhere else and pay again. Careless service, unbelievable.
