Super 8 by Wyndham Logan

The bed was comfortable, and the price and location were great. There’s a Planet fitness and Walmart nearby, plus plenty of other things. The staff were amazing. 10/10, I’d recommend it to anyone.

The hotel was clean and tidy, and the room was nice. They seem to be updating the rooms a little at a time, but I didn’t run into any major issues. Breakfast could use more options.

My wife and I found a bedbug when we woke up after the first night of our two-night stay. We moved to another hotel in town so we wouldn’t bring bedbugs home. We asked for a refund for the second night, but management never responded, and Wyndham kept sending us in circles. At first, Wyndham said they could help. In the end, they told us to contact the local manager, who didn’t answer our calls or emails. I’d avoid this place.

The guy who checked us in was quick and helpful, and we liked having three queen beds and the extra space. But this Super 8 badly needs updating. There were holes in the shower curtain and towels, a big crack in the sink, and the bathroom door was hard to close. The window curtain was sun-faded and partly unattached. The freezer was packed with ice, and the carpet needed stretching so the fridge couldn’t open all the way. One outlet didn’t work, and we couldn’t get the TV to turn on. Although it’s supposed to be smoke-free, the whole building smelled of smoke and triggered allergies for most of us. Breakfast was an extremely basic continental spread in a tiny room with little seating. You can get onto the main road easily if turning right, but heading west means detouring through back roads. There are no elevators, so request a ground-floor room if you need one. We saw the pool and decided not to swim, though other families were using it. We won’t be back.
