The breakfast has enough variety that I didn't end up eating the same thing every day, and it's free, which is hard to beat. Rooms are clean and comfortable. They're on the small side, but I don't notice that once I'm asleep.

Construction is going on here, and the dust and smell made the place feel dirty throughout. Sheetrock dust was on practically everything, so I had to watch that my clothes and bags didn't touch surfaces. The third floor was the worst: workers were smoking in the rooms and hallways, the floor was coated in dust, and the ice machine was covered too. My room was on the second floor, so I had to go up there for ice and take my shoes off before going back to my room. There wasn't an ice machine on our floor. The room had hardly any storage, no drawers, shelves or closet, and there was no phone to call the front desk or trash can in either the room or bathroom. We used grocery bags for rubbish. No hair dryer or toilet paper holder either. The bathroom faucet wasn't secured well to the sink and only gave hot water. Since the carpet had been replaced with vinyl, there were big gaps under both the room door and the connecting-room door. We put towels down for privacy. We stayed three days and housekeeping never came. The Wi-Fi connected but wouldn't load anything, so we had to use our phone data. The staff were friendly, the AC worked well, and breakfast was decent for a hotel. Still, if you have breathing problems or a sensitive respiratory system, I wouldn't choose this place. Once the construction is finished, it might be okay for one night, but there are many nicer hotels within walking distance for a longer stay. Guests should be told about the work, and rates should be much lower during the updates. We won't stay here again.

For the price, the stay covered everything we needed, and we'd come back when we're in town. The room had been updated, with thick curtains that kept it dark, a hot shower, and AC that blew cold. Breakfast was top notch, with fresh fruit on both days, and the area was very clean. The check-in staff and manager were the friendliest part. The shared spaces, especially the hallways, felt old and dated, and some smelled bad. The elevator was slow too.

Clean room in a safe area, and the price was great. The coffee was good and breakfast was nice. At checkout they even had water bottles with our names on them. That was going above and beyond.
