The couple who run the property were sweet, helpful and easy-going. The rooms have been updated and were very clean and quiet, and the well-lit parking lot felt safe. My bed was comfortable, and the room had a new microwave, fridge and wall-mounted flatscreen TV. It's great value right on the strip. Next time I'm in Lone Pine, I'll stay here again instead of looking elsewhere.

Don't let the outside put you off this little motel. The rooms are really clean, with nice pillows, warm blankets and good bathrooms. Highly recommend it, and it'll be my go-to when I travel here.

There were dead cockroaches under the spring boxes at every bed in room 17, and the room smelled strongly of cockroach spray.

Trails Motel doesn't have much curb appeal, but the owner has done a good job with this 1960s-style place. The rooms have been updated with fresh paint, new countertops, a large fridge and new linens. Don't judge it by the outside, it's plenty comfortable.

The owner really made this stay. He helped us out several times and saved our trip without being obligated to. He's amazing, and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to pay that karma forward. It's also a clean, good hotel and a solid starting point for Whitney.
