Boardwalk Cottages

The staff were amazing, the place was very clean, and the cafe was top notch. Being able to bring pets was a real blessing. The location is great, but the property itself feels run down. The porches are lovely but were dirty, there’s no landscaping, and a broken fence and weeds are what you see from the sauna. A few things in the room were slightly broken, too. With a resort fee, I expected the upkeep to be top notch.

The Cottages are pet friendly and close enough to walk into the main part of town. The cafe serves good coffee, fresh squeezed juices, and food from 8am-8pm, and everyone we met was friendly. We’ve stayed at the other properties too and have had good experiences at each, with each place having its own personality. We had a wonderful stay and will be back VERY soon. One personal note: the lamps without shades bothered my eyes, and the head of our bed was right against the wall where the toilet is on the other side. Neither was a deal breaker, but it’s useful to know. I still recommend it!

We could bring our dog Tully, which was a big plus. My husband and I stayed in one of the new one bedroom units above the store, and we loved how tastefully it was decorated. It’s close to town and the newly revamped Boardwalk. I also loved being able to head downstairs for my morning latte. We’ll definitely book one of these units again. HIGHLY recommend staying here.

We were in Long Beach for business and didn’t use the bikes, sauna, or pool at the other location, so the $14 daily resort fee felt a bit unfair. I’d rather see that included in the rate. Still, we’d stay here again. Our Luxe King Suite w/ Kitchen had lots of thoughtful extras and an extremely comfortable memory foam bed. Service was fairly hands off, which suited us. Since the room was above Currents coffee shop/restaurant, we heard some early morning prep noise, though it wasn’t enough to put us off. Ear plugs are provided for light sleepers. We also really appreciate the simple, straightforward Dog/Pet policy.
