Hilton Garden Inn Sarasota - Bradenton Airport

We'd be happy to stay again. The room and facility were clean and well maintained, and the quiet HVAC kept us comfortable. Everyone on staff was pleasant and helpful. The food at the lobby restaurant and bar was very good, though the space was noisy and had only a few tables. From the street, it was hard to spot the hotel quickly unless you noticed a related property nearby that was more visible.

The rooms were clean, and the location worked well for our airport trip. Shay V. gave us the best customer service and went above and beyond to help with our travel needs. Such a courteous, nice young woman.

I love Hiltons, and the food here was really good, but I wanted to get out as soon as I could. At check-in I had trouble with the door, and the maintenance guy who came to help was rude and obviously irritated. He said it was user error and that I could have gotten in, even though I couldn't. Then he said he'd change it so I wouldn't have to cry. What? It's his job to help, and he was so rude. Later he came back about my leaking toilet. I had to deal with it overnight, which I understand since maintenance isn't available 24/7, but he acted like I was just making problems and there wasn't one. It turned out the toilet was cracked, and I had to move rooms. I could have switched rooms from the start and avoided dealing with him. The amenities might be nice, but Hampton is very nice and friendly. Try that place instead.

The room was dirty, and the sink had mold growing in it. Room service was never available, and when I tried to ask housekeeping staff in the hallway for help, none of them spoke English. They need retraining. The other departments were professional and kind, but one department can drag down the whole property, and details and cleanliness matter. Five stars for every department except housekeeping, which gets one. Hilton has really deteriorated since BlackRock private equity bought it a few years ago. All they care about is taking your money.
