One Village Place Residences, Lake Tahoe

The view of the gondola from our window was stunning, and the accommodations were spotless, beautiful, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail felt thoughtfully arranged to help us relax. The Inspirato team made things especially easy: they did grocery shopping before we arrived and provided wonderful concierge service throughout our visit. This trip meant a lot to me, and Northlake Resort made it special. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was beyond what we expected. If you want a luxurious, welcoming, memorable stay in the Lake Tahoe area, this is a wonderful choice.

We had an almost ridiculous amount of space for just two people. Three bathrooms, a fireplace, washer and dryer, a refrigerator we could practically live in, and a great deck to look out from. It was luxurious beyond reason, really overkill for us.

The location is great and the room was okay, but the service afterward was disastrous. My friend was getting her gear from a Gondola locker when a metal rack fell from the top, hit her helmet, and broke into pieces on the ground. It happened so suddenly and forcefully that she was very distressed, and she now has mild discomfort in her neck. We emailed the hotel to complain and got no response. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, given the safety concern.

The setting is a big part of the appeal: gondolas right at your doorstep, Tahoe scenery, mountain air, and outdoor activities all around, with well-appointed accommodations. It’s romantic for a couples getaway, but also works well for a family trip. I thought the experience was a bargain, and this is where I stay when I visit Tahoe. I highly recommend it. I only had two complaints. Check-out is at 10 a.m., and the cleaning team was at our door right at that time, making sure we left. Staying longer than one night gives you more time to enjoy the place, and it’s probably best not to stay up too late the night before check-out. Also, you have to check in at the Vacation Club entrance. We spent quite a while trying to find where to park and check in because the address is on the other side of the property. They should explain that when you book, but they didn’t. The secure garage parking is nice, though it’s a tight fit for SUVs and trucks.
