Zota Beach Resort

We loved the location, close to wonderful restaurants in Longboat Key, and the beach was beautiful. The beach crew worked hard setting up daybeds and umbrellas and were so friendly, as was the concierge team. Housekeeping did a wonderful job too, especially Neka, who I believe was new. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The resort food was okay, but not great, and that was the only downside to the week. We'll be back!

I read the negative reviews, but none of those issues matched what I experienced recently. This is now my favorite getaway. From arrival on, I was treated well, and everyone I spoke with was pleasant and helpful. The beach staff were especially courteous and personable. I enjoyed several meals, and every one was very good. Roy, the GM, was pleasant and attentive to the details as well. Everything about my stay was excellent.

I loved this place, especially its stretch of pristine beach on Longboat Key, where the sunsets are crazy beautiful. Even the standard view from the fourth floor had a decent look at the gulf. Viento was so good for breakfast and dinner, with tasty choices, that we never went elsewhere. There are charging ports by the bed, but bring a plug or USB end for your device since there's no 'C' style port. The restaurant was absolutely wonderful.

The beds were great, and I really liked the big balcony, though smoke from the neighbors was a problem. The staff were great too. I’d skip Viento, the restaurant was hit or miss. I had two meals there and couldn’t finish either; the Mahi was really tough. The room doors made the stay frustrating. The balcony door was so hard to open that I had to put my whole body into it. Maintenance came up and tried WD40, but it didn’t help. The bathroom’s sliding door was noisy and difficult to open or close. The maintenance guy adjusted it a little, though it still wasn’t much better. And the room door slammed shut whenever it opened, making me jump. For those reasons, I wouldn’t return to Zota Beach. I’d find another place.
