The rooms and the hotel itself were pleasant, and my family and I enjoyed our time there. Still, we won't be coming back. The hotel charged us $500 for smoking in a room where nobody smoked. Its sensors apparently mistook my hair dryer for smoke, which I understand has happened with certain hotel sensors. I was there with my brother and my 12-year-old daughter, and neither of us smoke. I would never allow smoking around my child. I challenged the charge right away. I was told to submit a form because the GM, Derek, wasn't available. They said he would be in Monday, but he wasn't. When I called again Tuesday, I was told he'd left at 1 PM. Management wasn't available during a busy holiday period, and the front desk staff were dismissive and rude. A hotel operating through the holidays should have someone available to handle problems promptly. Derek denied my claim twice even though my brother and I both provided evidence. He kept sending the same report instead of addressing what we'd told him. His absence during key business hours and his failure to help reflect badly on his leadership. The hotel was also clearly understaffed: one employee handled all of breakfast by themselves, and housekeeping was lacking, probably for the same reason. That was inconvenient, but on its own it wouldn't have stopped us from returning. I expect a full refund and will take this to corporate. My family will do the same, and I'll share our experience widely.

Housekeeping was kind, but stretched so thin they only cleaned our room once during a five-day stay, and that was after we asked. Breakfast was supposed to run until 9, yet they stopped replenishing it around 7:30. I had coffee without milk, even after asking and being told it would be replaced. Before 8:15, the waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, and pastries were gone. Dozens of people were left with scraps and then nothing, while front desk staff and a few managers kept saying more food was coming. It never did. Management is clearly cutting corners. This is the worst Hilton property I've stayed at. Don't stay here.

The location is good, though the hotel sits right by a difficult neighborhood, so be careful around the back. On my first visit, I saw a man a block away shooting up in his truck. This time, three guys outside my window were doing drugs, and I even got it on video. I've stayed here twice. The rooms are a good size and service has been good, but both times the showers had mold and red algae, which is common in CO. Both are easy to clean, so I'm not sure why they were there.

The walls are so thin that nearby guests or trains at night can interrupt your sleep. It happened to me on two of my six nights. Breakfast also had no fresh vegetables at all, which I found surprising. The room itself was spacious, clean, and well equipped, with a comfortable bed, and the staff were friendly. It wasn't a bad stay, but next time I'll try somewhere else.
