Hilton Garden Inn Longview

The staff checking us in acted like we were a bother. The hall carpet was disgusting in spots by the elevators, and the floor on our level felt like the subfloor was rotting. Soft dips in the carpet ran through the hallway and could trip someone, especially an older guest. They also charged $7 per day for parking, a fee hidden in a small exception on the website. They billed us when we left and threatened to tow the car. This isn't a big city, there's no garage or protected lot, and plenty of parking elsewhere. Breakfast costs at least $12, even for oatmeal or cereal. They don't clearly tell you it's not included, just put it in tiny print at the bottom of a lobby sign, then try to charge you after you've taken a plate. It feels like they're nickel-and-diming guests. Absolutely not worth the price, borderline a scam. Spend your money elsewhere.

We’re having a great time at our family birthday staycation and enjoying the pool. The hotel staff have been accommodating to our group for my son's 9th birthday.

It's a decent hotel, but they seem set on making extra money from guests. Breakfast is $12, and there's also a $7 daily parking fee they try to slip in. You're already paying to stay there, so having to pay for parking too makes no sense. This isn't a Disney World property. Book somewhere else where breakfast and parking are free.

I was a vendor with Blossoms by Shelby last Sunday at the ETX Wedding Extravaganza. The hotel was lovely and extremely clean, and the fireplaces were on, which made the place cozy. The staff were very accommodating, and when I needed batteries, the Manager helped me out.
