The little minibar and snacks were a nice touch, and check-in and checkout were both quick and easy. We spent a week at SkyView and had something different to try at the restaurant each night. The staff were kind and attentive, too. Our patio was a good spot to relax in the sun, with a great view of the highway. We only noticed the road noise indoors when the door was open. The pool was shallower than we expected, but still nice for a soak. A 10/10 vacation for us.

The main reason we booked this one-night staycation was to use the pool. At check-in, the front desk agent casually said it was closed. I asked if it might reopen that evening or the next day, and she said it had already been shut for a week. She said guests had been told in advance, but since we booked through a third party, they didn't have our contact details. It felt like we were just out of luck. I said more than once how disappointed I was. I'd packed two bathing suits for one night because swimming was the plan, but she brushed past it, mentioned when the restaurant and bar closed, and didn't suggest any alternative. That evening I contacted the booking company to see if anything could be done. They replied a few days later and said the Front Office had told them we'd been offered and accepted a room upgrade as compensation. I hadn't known about any upgrade until that email, and our room number never changed during check-in. I would've happily taken a free cancellation and driven home if someone had offered it. Instead I felt stuck, and didn't want to deal with that FD agent again. I paid $429 for one night and came away pale and still desperate for a pool. I'm venting here in case it helps someone else avoid the same mistake. A few other things: there are nice views of the surrounding wineries, and the courtyard seating is pleasant, but it's right outside the room doors. Sitting there felt like intruding on someone's space unless you were on your own patio. You can also hear the courtyard music clearly from inside, and around 1am I heard every word from a bachelorette party outside our door. It was entertaining, but not what I wanted. There was a decent amount of highway noise, which I expected given the location. Our room had odd residue all over the closet mirror, and there was no mini fridge or wine cooler. At checkout they charged us $37 for a stuffed animal left in the room. I checked the bill, and the woman at the morning front desk was much nicer about it. She checked the room, confirmed we'd left it, and refunded us. If we really did get upgraded, the rooms are small. We'd booked a “cozy” room, and I thought that's what we had.

The grounds are lovely, and the staff were attentive. Our room had a patio, a neatly made bed, lovely cotton sheets, and two pillow types to choose from. Check-in was super quick. We only stayed one night, and the one downside was that the pool was closed for renovations through March.

Even arriving on a dark, rainy night, we loved our stay. Hattie, our pup, might've enjoyed it even more than we did. The outdoor space was lovely, the staff were wonderful, and the room was really comfortable. The bed was one of the comfiest we've ever slept in, and it had fitted sheets. I'd absolutely recommend staying here in Los Alamos!

The restaurant service was excellent, and I really liked the books on the nightstand. The room had a great feel to it, and the bed was super comfortable. The drawbacks were that our room still wasn't ready at 3pm check-in on a Monday, and the person at the front desk seemed annoyed with her job. Also, the heated pool felt cold. They say it's heated to the low 70s, which seemed about right, but I consider 78-82 standard for a heated pool.
