Sonia at the front desk was a bright spot. She was lovely, and the woman who checked us in on Thursday was kind too. She even moved us because our first room was right beside the elevator. The room was clean and breakfast was fine, and the location is about as close to the slopes as you can get. But the rooms have no clothing rods at all. On our third night, the hairdryer didn’t work, and neither did the completely dead phone when I tried to call the desk. I went downstairs for another dryer, but the young man mumbled so much I could barely understand him. He said they didn’t have any, maybe because he couldn’t get one from an empty room. Sonia couldn’t be at the desk around the clock, unfortunately.

We chose this place for the location, and I should’ve read the reviews more carefully. It’s a run-down hotel that seems to be getting remodeled slowly. Our newly updated room had a cute college dorm feel, with some thoughtful design, but it didn’t suit what I’d want in a hotel room. The mattresses were old and really uncomfortable, though the linens were decent. There was no elevator, working phone system, internet, or clothes closet, and the wall hooks were too high to reach. The TV had an excellent channel selection. The staff were pleasant, but didn’t come across as professional hotel managers. Also, a 72-hour notice to cancel? Really, who does that?

Ashley, Sonia, and the breakfast crew were the stars of the stay. They welcomed us warmly and shared a real connection to the area’s history and community. The stay itself was pretty decent. For $155.00 total, though, there was no elevator, and getting apps to cast on the TV over wifi was so complicated that it didn’t work. There is live TV with commercials.

The rooms were clean, the TV service was amazing, and breakfast was delicious. You can tell they’re trying, and I appreciate that. Sonia was a wonderful general manager, and she and her crew did such a great job keeping the property clean. Thank you so much, Sonia!
