Best Western Pasadena Inn

The room had an iron, coffee maker, and fridge, and breakfast the next morning was decent, with hot items and cereal. Check-in was quick, and they gave us parking passes for the night. Our room was clean and really quiet, in a good location. I've stayed in a few four-star hotels that weren't as good. I'd definitely come back.

The room itself was semi-clean, the bed was comfortable, and there were a variety of TV channels. But the floor was dirty, breakfast was poor with little choice, the muffins were old, the yogurt was expired, and there was no hot water for tea. They said they only had coffee, so I heated water we'd brought in the microwave. We reported every issue. Only the odor got addressed, by moving us to another room. For everything else, we just got an apology. We stay in hotels over 100 nights a year and have for many years. I know how to report problems. Communication prevents issues. The first room smelled so awful and strongly that I asked to switch, even though we were there for only one night. In the new room, loud banging went on from 11:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., rattling the walls. We didn't sleep much. We couldn't tell what caused it, but it may have been the AC. People also kept talking outside our door. I called to book because we needed a ground-floor room. Alexa/Alexis was rude and seemed eager to get me off the phone. She made several reservation mistakes because she wasn't paying attention and was rushing. I called back to correct them, but they were still there at check-in, and Eva didn't fix them. She added another mistake, which was finally corrected at checkout by a professional, friendly woman. In reply to BW: Everything had already been brought to staff's attention. I asked about hot water and tea and was told there was none, only coffee. That's why I used the microwave for our own water. The odor was the only problem they addressed. I received apologies for the rest.

The breakfast was a nice surprise, with plenty of variety. We stayed one night while passing through. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, but the price was twice what we usually pay. Maybe it was because we came on a weekend.

The location on the main Colorado street is okay, and parking out front is free. Breakfast is included but pretty limited. It was cheap, so don't expect a four-star place. Fine for a night, especially for workers or travelers on a budget.
