The staff were polite and very friendly, and helped me with directions in the morning. My room was clean. At first they put me in a shared room, but after checking again, she realized the mistake and moved me to a private one. The bathrooms were all extremely dirty, and there was loud noise until at least midnight despite the 10 p.m. quiet rule. The TV in my room didn’t work, either. I’d say it’s okay for a single night, but not a comfortable choice for a longer stay or a business trip. It might suit people on vacation who just want to party with friends. 2.5 stars.

I spent four days here in June 2018 and had a great experience. It’s a good budget hostel if you’re working at UCLA, which is right across the street. A path through the Mildred Mathias botanical garden starts in front of the hostel, at Le Conte and Hilgard avenues, and takes you into UCLA. Staff were helpful, and both the towel and shower were great. They provide a cupboard for your things, so bring a small lock or you’ll have to buy one there. Food can be a bit of a challenge. The closest cheap shop is inside UCLA, about a 10-minute walk, though that may have changed since my visit.

Dormshare is a comfortable, affordable hostel close to UCLA. The rooms and amenities are clean, and the kitchen’s great for making whatever you feel like, whenever you want. The people staying here are lovely and make it easy to have good conversations. The neighborhood is fantastic for walks around campus. Five stars!

The location is fantastic, and the accommodation is convenient and affordable. Staff are friendly and easy to reach while still giving guests space. I don’t use the shared fridge because its setup needs improvement.
