Extended Stay America Suites - Los Angeles - LAX Airport

The room was spacious and nice, with a kitchenette, and the staff may be friendly, but they were reluctant to give us a receipt. We were charged for a king room even though they gave us a queen room. I had booked a king online a week ahead, but they had no king available and double-booked me into two queen rooms without letting me know in advance. The AC barely cooled the room, which was always hot. The hallway felt cooler. There was no full-length mirror, a real problem for me as a shorty. Breakfast options were limited, though I expected that. There’s no designated bathroom area for pets, and the available grass was a little overgrown and flea-infested.

We only needed to stay one night, and I’m glad it wasn’t longer. The beds were super uncomfortable, and the rooms are old and outdated. There were no towels or soap, and I found hair in the tub. We told them housekeeping had done a poor job, but the young woman at the desk didn’t acknowledge what I said. I was able to get some Microban to spray down the beds. The property needs to be re-evaluated. The customer service rep was fine.

The staff were nice and the phone service was good, but I can’t recommend this hotel. It costs way too much for what you get. The stale smell is real, and my allergies kicked in. The bed had a sinkhole the size of a large gorilla, the fridge sounded like a 1920s steam engine, and the AC didn’t work very well. Maybe the chain should rethink its pet policy. #skunktown On a side note, I can’t recommend visiting LA either. It’s a dead shell of its former glory days.

Amy made the stay for me. She was friendly, smiling, and gave me all the silverware, plates, and bowls I asked for. Great service, care, and attention to detail. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, but the bathroom tub faucet leaked and disturbed my sleep a little. I’ll stay again because of Amy’s customer service, and hope they fix the leak in my fourth-floor room.
