The room has a mini fridge, A/C, a shower, and Wi-Fi, and it’s always clean when I go. There’s lots of parking, and the service is good, though you have to buzz at the window if nobody’s there. $50 for two hours seems alright.

We were stranded late at night until the owner’s wife came out and got us a room, so I’m grateful to her for helping us. My friend and I had come from the Bay Area for two nights and a day. She’d booked ahead and told them we’d arrive in the middle of the night, but they didn’t respond. After we got to LA, she called several times without an answer. There was nobody in the office when we arrived, and we hadn’t known the motel had off hours. After we rang the bell, a man finally came to the window and said he’d already rented our room and had nothing available. About ten minutes into calling other places, his wife said there was a room, but it needed five to ten minutes of cleaning. It was right next to theirs. The room was very much a case of getting what you pay for. Both outlets beside the bed were exposed, which seemed like a fire hazard, and there were flies in the room, including some in the bed after I took off the blanket. I don’t understand why the reviews are so high. One of our last Uber drivers also said the place wasn’t safe.

I was there for only two hours and left still trying to get a refund. The woman manager yelled at me about a $5 cash deposit when I checked in, saying I couldn’t stay without it. A man who seemed like a senior manager waived that fee, but only if I left and came back with $10 cash. The room felt like a prison cell, with concrete walls and floor. It smelled freshly cleaned, but the bleach burned my nose. Another customer harassed me, then the woman manager yelled at me to leave because she assumed he was my visitor. I didn’t know him and couldn’t explain over her shouting. We were both Black, which is why I felt she had racially profiled me. The room wasn’t comfortable, and the service was terrible.

The power went out in the block at some point after 10 a.m., leaving us without electricity or hot water. We’d left at 8 a.m. to run errands and returned at 5 p.m. to find the room dark. That was when staff told us about the outage. Nobody had called guests to let us know. My boyfriend and I had a family event to get ready for, so we tried to check out since there were no services. They said we couldn’t cancel or get a refund because the outage wasn’t their fault, but we didn’t think guests should be expected to stay without services. One staff member first offered $60 back from the $110 we’d paid for the second day, even though we hadn’t stayed that day, but said they couldn’t process it then. When we returned the next day, the offer had dropped to $50, and the attitude was awful. We’d tried to be patient and reasonable, but by then it felt like a scam. This was our second stay. The first was fine, but on this visit they’d also rented out our room and initially wanted another $100 for a different one. We were about to leave when they offered it at a better price. Their customer service was so bad, and we won’t stay here again.

My wife and I needed a cheap place to sleep for the weekend. After reading reviews, we thought this hotel might work, but we were treated horribly. We both have registered, licensed service animals with cards showing their photos and valid registration numbers. We had to fight just to stay, and when we wanted another night, my wife said they wouldn’t take our cash because of the two animals. We felt discriminated against because of them. I read another review from a non-Caucasian woman who described discrimination and rude, unprofessional treatment, and it sounded just like what happened to us. We’re white, and we were treated terribly too. We recorded the situation and are going to sue the establishment. The room itself was clean and comfortable, though a little outdated. The towels and linens felt like sandpaper and had holes in them. There’s a reason it costs only $100. We saw police helicopter footage circling above us when we checked in, and the area felt really bad. My wife talked me into staying the first night, but now she regrets it. We stay in lots of hotels, including nice ones, and only one other place has treated us this badly. Don’t trust the reviews or stay here.
