The staff were friendly and the hotel was decent, but there were cockroaches running around everywhere. The bathroom water also drained poorly, as it does in many hotels. The sheets were clean, though the pillows smelled strongly of sweat. They may not cost much, so changing them more often would be great.

We arrived late last week because of an emergency, but left Room 227 after just a few minutes. The air didn't feel right, and we wondered if an air treatment or purification device was still running. Our throats became irritated and we started coughing, so we cancelled the stay for health reasons. We kept coughing and felt nauseous for a while after leaving, then gradually felt better. We understand that hotels may treat the air or clean rooms, but those devices should be switched off before guests come in, with proper ventilation afterward. We hope management looks at how rooms are prepared so future guests can feel safer and more comfortable.

The staff were friendly and helpful at every point, from check-in and housekeeping to maintenance and security. Our room was cleaned daily, including the bed and bathroom. The breakfast room is small, but the basics were all there. It also smelled strongly of chlorine around the pool, which we didn't use, though it looked clean and had guests in it now and then. There are some drawbacks. Parking was difficult, with very narrow spaces and lots of large cars. We also saw dead and live cockroaches outside. Nights were noisy, and the nearby area had many homeless people and a urine smell in several spots. The breakfast area itself is quite small. I was unsure after reading reviews before our two nights in Hollywood, but I don't regret booking. It's good value and well placed for walking to the Walk of Fame and other attractions. If you want a central place and aren't expecting luxury or bringing a huge vehicle, it's perfectly adequate.

The building looks nice, the location is great, and the water pressure was strong. The room did the job, and the heater worked, so the lack of extra blankets wasn't a problem. Breakfast was the usual basic continental kind, though real orange juice and coffee would've been better, and there wasn't much room to eat. Parking was cramped, and there was no outlet for an all-electric car.
