Hotel Bel-Air - Dorchester Collection

I’ll be back next month, and I’ve stayed here at least ten times over the years. This was my first visit since before COVID and a solo trip. Swan Lake and the property’s calm, beautiful setting are still something special. They upgraded my room, which I appreciated, and it was quiet, just what I wanted. The spa’s 90-minute aromatherapy treatment was spectacular, as my previous treatments here have been. The attendants were compassionate and attentive to details. I also ate at the Bar & Lounge, where the service was excellent. I had breakfast at the restaurant twice, though its service was the one part of my stay that fell short. I hope to return on future trips too.

We had High Tea and loved the calm setting, good tea and sandwiches, and delicious desserts. They gave us extra sweets for my birthday. The evening jazz was great, and the musicians were kind. In the morning, room-service breakfast was delicious, and they made the beet juice we specially requested. The spa was beautiful, and the massage was so relaxing my husband fell asleep. They gave me another little birthday gift there. The pool was gorgeous and peaceful before the kids arrived, then became a lot of fun with great drinks. The birthday touches began at check-in: the valet was professional and kind, the front desk was welcoming and upgraded us, and our room had champagne, a small cake, and fresh fruit. The immaculate room had crisp white linens, a comfortable bed, and a peaceful little private courtyard. There was a fountain outside, which we could hear from the bathroom. We stayed in room 472 if you'd like that room. It was pricey, but worth every penny to us. Pets are allowed, though, as we did, you can ask to be moved away from them during High Tea. The thoughtful details made my birthday feel special, and we’d gladly return.

The pool and spa gave our visit a calm, relaxing feel. Even sitting among the gardens was lovely, with the hotel balancing sophistication and ease. I hosted an important meeting about aesthetics and education there, and the setting worked perfectly. From check-in onward, the staff were warm and professional and made me feel at home. The service and pool experience were both a 10. Hotel Bel-Air made the meeting and stay memorable. 10/10 🤍

The room had a patio and the usual charm of a classic Hollywood bungalow, though it felt a little dark and smelled faintly of a fireplace. The gardens and pool were beautiful, breakfast outdoors was great, and valet service was excellent. Service overall was superb. For a luxurious, private getaway in LA, this is a truly lovely choice.
