La Boheme Living

La Boheme is a magical, carefully put together spot in east LA, with enough space and privacy for couples or solo travelers. The glamping setup reflects Hil’s creative vision, and there are little details to discover around the property in daylight and under the twinkly lights at night. Everything listed was available, including lots of bath, shower, and facial toiletries. There’s no checkout cleaning or to-do list. The bed was comfortable, with separate heated mattress covers for people who prefer different sleeping temperatures. Days got hot, but pulling back the canvas tent flaps let a breeze through, and a commercial-style fan helped cool things down and added soothing white noise. Keep the tent’s mesh underlayer zipped on both sides to keep bugs out, though bugs weren’t really a problem during my stay. A fire pit and logs are provided. There was plenty nearby within walking distance, and Hollywood attractions were 25-30 minutes away. I went to shows at Hollywood Palladium and Bowl, and took a quick overnight trip to San Diego to see friends mid-stay. The place exceeded my expectations and was a remarkable retreat for relaxing, romance, or reflection. Book it.

The setup has everything you need for glamping, including a fridge, coffee and tea, a shower stall, and a composting toilet. Twinkle lights, a few adorable cats wandering around, and a resident chicken in her cute coop make it feel special. Hillary is a sweet, accommodating host. It’s in the middle of a cool boho neighborhood near downtown LA. I’ve stayed twice and enjoyed both visits.

Hillary was such a caring, lovely host, from her restaurant suggestions to the jar of delicious HomeMade! jelly she gave us. We spent four nights at this little oasis amid busy L.A., and couldn’t have hoped for a better stay. Thanks for all your care and help, Hillary. We’ll definitely come back when we visit L.A.

I’d never tried glamping before and absolutely loved it. The host was kind and gracious, and the place is charming, quiet, and relaxing, while still close to shops and good food. Highly recommend.
