The place is horribly overpriced for a dive, and I hope this helps someone avoid getting stuck there. The water softener chemicals make the shower dangerously slippery, and I could never rinse off properly or drink the tap water. During heat waves, including Jan-Feb or June-November, the AC turns itself off and can stay off for hours, with no buttons to override it. After an exhausting day I came back to a hot, humid room like a furnace and couldn’t sleep. The walls are paper thin, dogs barked all night next door, and pit bulls were allowed to lunge at you. There was a shady homeless vibe, with loud people smoking all kinds of drugs on the stairs or outside your AC, filling the room with smoke. The sink turns on by itself, and the bathroom door won’t stay closed. The housekeepers were rude, had an attitude, and seemed untrustworthy. Drive farther down E Colorado toward Glendale instead, where there are lots of better and cheaper motels, like the Sakura.

It’s a small, family-run place with basic rooms that are still comfortable. The beds were firmer than I expected, which suited me. Parking is free, a rare thing near Glendale, and the staff were polite at check-in. Nothing fancy, but good value.

My room was clean and nice, but it was on the third floor and there’s no elevator. Hauling all my luggage up three flights nearly killed me. Ask for a lower-floor room.

A practical place to stay in LA. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and both Wi-Fi and parking were included. It was quiet at night, and the staff were friendly at check-in.
