SpringHill Suites by Marriott Pasadena Arcadia

The breakfast was really bad, like at other Marriott properties offering it free, so it helped that plenty of restaurants with different kinds of food are within 250 yards. Arcadia Metro station is also about a quarter mile away. After more than ten years at different Marriott brands, this Springhill Suites had the most comfortable bed and pillow I can remember. I’m a lifetime Platinum Elite with Marriott and have stayed in a lot of their beds. Our room was clean and quiet, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed Friday, February 13 through Monday, February 16, to visit a family member at a USC hospital in Arcadia. Springhill Suites was around 1.5 miles from there, handy for both the hospital and restaurants. Arcadia is beautiful, and staying here made the visit a pleasure. The staff really made the experience. Tiffany and Pauline welcomed us right away, and Mike at the night desk and the young man cooking breakfast were great too. Our first-floor room made coming and going easier for my husband, who is a stroke survivor and uses a walker. It was spacious and had a fridge, coffee machine, microwave, sink, desk, and the other amenities. The bathroom vanity lights had a movement sensor. Though the hotel is on a busy street and next to the Metro station, it stayed quiet and we weren’t bothered by the trains. Parking around the property was pretty good. A ramp for walkers and wheelchairs would help at the back lot by the rear door, though getting over a curb is manageable. There’s also a shop with snacks, wine, and beer, plus a nice breakfast area. There are some good places to eat nearby: Spices Thai on First Street is about a mile away, Kababstic is across the street and less than a mile off Huntington, and BJ's is next to it. Denny's is around the corner on Huntington.

Our stay isn’t over yet, but I wanted to call out the front desk staff member who helped us. He welcomed us warmly and brought extra blankets straight to our room when I asked. We’ve really appreciated his kindness and professional, attentive service so far.

We came for the rose bowl game, go hoosiers!, and the staff were helpful from start to finish. They gave us bottled water and directions to the train and restaurants, and even cleared another guest’s laundry out of the dryer after it had sat there for hours so we could dry our clothes. They also let us park on check-in day before our room was ready, which made it possible to get to the train station for the game. Everyone was genuinely nice. Worth every penny, highly recommend!
