The Green Ginger Guest House

The rooms aren’t bad and the bed is comfortable, but the service was terrible, as the bad reviews say. Nobody sent me my room details, and when I messaged the listed numbers, most didn’t work or didn’t work there anymore. Gloria did reply, but put me in the wrong room. When I said it wasn’t the room I’d paid for, she told me my booked room had a broken AC. I asked when it would be ready, but she never answered. People living in the house have loud fights. One boy is the problem. He verbally attacks the women who live there, and I feel awful for them.

The room was very clean and the bed was comfy. The staff member who cleans the rooms was really nice, and there was complimentary coffee. It’s a quiet location with a great view of LA from the rooftop. The jacuzzi is nice, and you’re only five minutes from the beach and the little village down the hill.

The house had a cool feel and some distinctive features, especially the rooftop patio. My room was spacious and completely clean, and I met one of the people who looks after the house. She was super sweet and made me feel welcome, though I can’t remember her name, sorry. The area was nice and quiet. I enjoyed my couple of nights here and would definitely stay again.

The noise made all four nights miserable. On the first, a guest downstairs played music until 6:30 a.m. The next night, guests in the back suite were fighting, including what sounded like a domestic violence situation. On the last night, some young guys right below me blasted music until 3:30 a.m. I contacted the manager, who seemed not to care. Mr. b said he would message them, but it took 20 minutes for the music to stop, and then they turned it back up. I didn't get a single good night's sleep. This didn't feel safe, and the staff didn't seem to care about guests.
