Travelodge Sylmar CA

A very economical stay in old yuma, close to the prison and historic downtown. It's an older motel and was quiet until the people upstairs started moving furniture at 7am. Things got a little noisy, then quieted down by 10pm.

When I finally had time to go through my dad's things, two days and two surgeries later, I found his tablet, pain medication, and two pairs of Nike shoes were missing. I called to report that there was an obvious thief among the employees, and wondered if the manager had taken them. Nobody seemed to care. I wanted some accountability, or at least a little concern about the theft. They couldn't even fake customer service. Now I have to give my dying father more bad news. My father had stayed there and, very ill and actively dying from liver failure, needed an ambulance at 12am on Saturday, 8/30/2025. I spoke with Sal and Mario over Labor Day weekend, and they assured me his belongings would be kept safe. I live two hours away, and was told I could only come between 10am and 3pm because only the manager had a key. When I arrived Monday, 09/01/2025, to collect his things, they looked as though someone had rummaged through them. I had no time to check because I needed to get back to the hospital and my dying father's side, so I quickly put everything in my trunk. Thanks, guys.

It's an older hotel, but the staff are really helpful. If you need anything, just ask the front desk. They're very accommodating to guests.

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was nice and fairly clean. I liked having a separate sink away from the toilet and a microwave in the room. The AC worked, and the pool looked nice, though we didn't use it. There were only two small pillows per bed, so I would've liked more. The broken elevator was an issue, and the stair door lock looked as if someone had pried it open with a crowbar. That felt kind of sketchy.
