Hollywood VIP Hotel has a lovely Old Hollywood feel, and the place was clean and welcoming throughout. The rates felt fair, and the location made getting around easy. Kathy’s leadership and care for guests really stayed with me. Daniel went out of his way to make everything comfortable and smooth, and Aaron and Vivian were kind and ready to help too. I’m grateful for such a warm, memorable stay.
The people working here were wonderful, and for the price the rooms are great. There’s a fridge but no microwave, and breakfast is about as basic as it gets. You’re half a block from Hollywood, so expect the usual sounds and smells.
The location was the only good thing. The front desk woman was rude and had an attitude. My room had no A/C, barely any shower pressure, and no hot water. There were roaches, the windows were stuck open, and the door lock could be pushed open. Bedding was stained, the hotel smelled like cigarettes, the walls were damaged, and so was the sink. Parking cost $30 in a sketchy alley with homeless people, and breakfast wasn’t worth it. If you have kids, I’d definitely find another hotel.
I’ve stayed here twice in the last month or so, about 4-5 nights each time, and both visits were stellar. The hotel is clean and chic, in a prime but quiet part of Hollywood, and the security deposit was very reasonable. There’s a lot to like, but the staff are the real gem. Daniel, Edith, June, and another kind lady, maybe a new hire, made me feel at home. They were polite, caring, and genuinely hospitable. One day I was very sick and throwing up because of strong new medication I’d been prescribed. The woman at reception was concerned and briefed the colleagues taking over, so they wouldn’t disturb my rest. That made it clear they cared about me, not because they had to, but because that’s who they are. I slept well, enjoyed the location, and had some really nice conversations with the team, especially Daniel. I’d absolutely come back. The service and standards were worth more than what I paid. Thanks for giving me VIP treatment throughout my stay and living up to the brand name.
The staff were really nice, and the location was ideal for my event. The beds seemed clean, but one had a dip that felt like sleeping in a pothole. For two people, I got one towel that felt like sandpaper and seemed older than Methuselah. There were no chairs in the room, and the shower head was missing, with water just pouring from the hose connection for handicap. The windows didn’t lock, though there were bars outside. I paid for parking in back so I’d have a spot, but a garage full of God knows what sat outside the back door, and the alley had drug needles all over it. That’s the city, not the hotel, but it was still there.
