Vista Motel

Really worth the price, with great food nearby and no ridiculous deposit. The owner was fantastic, so polite, friendly, and accommodating, and room service was amazing. We had no problems at all. A great place to get away and rest, and the best affordable hotel in LA.

We drove in from Stockton and paid $120 for the night. The shower worked great, the room was clean, and for the area and price it was decent. I didn’t see any roaches like some other comments mention. We had a good stay, and this will be our go-to when we visit East L.A.

If your life’s dry, this motel is cool, and if it’s poppin, it’s still cool. Overall, a great motel.

People were loud all night, playing music and talking on their phones, and everyone seemed to be smoking weed in their rooms. There was also a police chase a couple of blocks away, with about a dozen cop cars and a helicopter. The neighborhood didn’t seem very safe, even during the day. The room itself was disgusting, with stuff scattered over the shelves and mirror, and it just wasn’t clean. There was no bathroom light, and the bedding was pathetic. I know people with better living conditions in halfway houses. At check-in there was definitely a language barrier, which wasn’t a big deal by itself. I think the woman was upset about the price I was supposed to get, and then told me she’d put me in a different room for the same price. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
