Los Fresnos Inn and Suites

We picked this hotel because it sits about 30 minutes from several attractions in different directions, which gave us plenty of options for our trip. The grounds were beautiful and well kept, parking was easy to find, and our room was clean and comfortable. Staff answered the phone promptly and were helpful. It turned out to be a great value.

After my husband and I arrived, we dropped off our things and went out for about two hours. When we returned, we found that the cleaning lady had entered our room without permission, and we were kicked out. The room hadn't been clean to begin with, and I don't think the sheets had been changed. No privacy at all. We'll never go back.

The bedding was a sheet and a bedspread that was even thinner than the sheet, and the bed itself was very uncomfortable. We also didn't have enough towels, and the ones provided were poor quality. There wasn't even a tissue box in the room. When we asked for more towels the next morning and mentioned the bedding, they gave my husband two towels and said thicker quilts were available on request. There was no sign to let guests know that. At least the air conditioning worked, and I liked that they provided toothbrushes and a sample size tube of toothpaste.

The owners handled a noisy neighbor right away on our first night, and the owner apologized again when we checked out. We've traveled to Los Fresnos for years and usually stayed with a relative, but this time my husband and I took a hotel room because we needed extra space. It was a pleasant stay. The bathroom has had some nice updates, the showerhead was great, and the bedding and towels were clean. The price was reasonable, cable TV was standard, and the air conditioner worked. We didn't use the pool, though we saw someone cleaning it in the morning. You can easily walk across a frontage road to the big Walmart if you need anything. Ocean Boulevard is easy to get to, and it goes all the way down to South Padre Island. We'll definitely stay here again. Thank you!
