Hilton Garden Inn Louisville Mall of St. Matthews

This wasn’t up to the standard I expect from Hilton. The room was mostly clean and okay, but the old AC unit was loud. They don’t clean during your stay unless you ask, and I only learned that on my last day. Neither elevator worked properly, so I wouldn’t have booked a fifth-floor room if I’d known. Breakfast was poor, and I was charged $14 for it. For what I got, it should’ve been included. The location is okay, near a mall and Whole Foods. The staff didn’t acknowledge me at any point. I brought all these concerns to the staff during my stay, to MCR hotels, the owners, and to Hilton, but so far nobody has responded. With other options around, I wouldn’t stay here again.

Jared at the front desk was a wonderful host. He went out of his way to suggest things to do and places to eat, and made sure I got my very important coffee. The room was nice and clean, and the pool was warm and working. Great location, with a huge range of things to do less than a minute away. I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

Jason, the assistant manager, was really kind and understanding when we needed to switch rooms. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the area is very convenient. The staff here are amazing. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The staff were friendly and the service was good, and our room was comfortable and clean. But the hotel has had a broken elevator for two months. Staff told me they didn’t have the money to fix it. I can’t believe that’s true, but that’s what management is telling employees. I wish they’d warned me before I took a fifth-floor room. The carpet throughout the hotel is filthy and should have been replaced long ago. Breakfast is $16 for the standard hotel fare I’m used to getting with the room, and the food isn’t worth the price. Their mini market has a sign saying they sell wine, but there wasn’t any. The compressor in our AC unit was also very noisy.
