Hilton Garden Inn Louisville/Northeast

The rooms are nice and have up-to-date Hilton tech, and the food is good too. It’s an excellent hotel and I’d recommend it for a Louisville stay. The only downside is that it’s a bit off the main road.

The front desk and kitchen folks, and the other people working here, are great. The room was clean and nice apart from not having enough shower soap for me and two other people who needed showers. Housekeeping should check the soap. I guess everyone hates adding more, since they use those silly hanging liquid dispensers. We didn’t realize breakfast wasn’t free for guests. There was a sign, but nobody mentioned it, so we thought the listed prices were for outside diners. The hotel is near some really nice neighborhoods and within walking distance of a lot of places. We paid, of course, but the meal wasn’t very good. I’d go somewhere else for breakfast. It’s $15 for the buffet, $4 for a toddler’s bowl of cereal, and $4 for a cream cheese bagel. Just so you know.

There are lots of nice places to shop and eat nearby, and the hotel is close to the hospital if you need to stay overnight for that. One of the beds had a really loose headboard, which seemed odd. We also got up early to go to the hospital and found the sidewalks and parking lot hadn’t been plowed yet, though I saw that all the other lots on our way out had been cleared. I’d suggest getting the plow crew out earlier.

We were here for my son’s hockey tournament, and both the hotel and staff were fantastic. Bar service was great, especially Tara. Five stars all the way. I can’t recommend this place enough.
