Holiday Inn Express Louisville Northeast by IHG

Marcus checked me in, and he's been fantastic throughout my stay. He's knowledgeable about the property and the surrounding area, professional, friendly, and personable. He comes across as sincere and like he really cares about guests and enjoys his job. I've heard him with other guests in the lobby, and he's always great. He says hello whenever I pass through. I hope management recognizes what a great team member he is. The rooms are very clean, the rest of the staff are nice, breakfast is hot, and the location worked perfectly for me. I've traveled for work for over a decade and stayed in thousands of hotels, so I felt this was worth sharing. I'll recommend this place to colleagues coming through and will return myself. Thanks to Marcus and the team for a great stay.

Awful. Trash sat by the second-floor ice machine for two days and smelled terrible. There are coffee machines in the rooms, but no coffee provided. I stayed three nights, and housekeeping only came in to empty the trash. The rooms are very dark, and the blinds are ripped.

There were live wires and a sharp dryer vent left beside the ice machine. At 11 p.m., the fire alarm went off and everyone had to stand outside in the cold. This place felt dangerous and inconvenient. The business center is slow, and its printer doesn't work. The front desk man kindly offered to print my documents if I emailed them to him. The USB ports beside the bed were pushed too far in to use. There was no coffee in the room because, they said, there were new machines in the lobby. I was on the third floor with my five-year-old. The pool was cloudy and nasty, so my daughter couldn't swim, even though that was one reason we chose this hotel. I included pictures of everything.

When we found bugs in our room, we asked to change rooms. Since the hotel didn't have another room like it available, they told us to leave right away and gave us only 30 minutes to pack. As someone who travels for business often, I found that unacceptable. The manager was extremely rude and unprofessional. I also found information suggesting she'd mismanaged hotels before and then moved to other chains. I'd strongly recommend booking a different IHG hotel.
