La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Louisville East

We left and found a much better hotel without staying the night. We never even got into the beds, but they wouldn’t refund my money. It’s been seven days and I still haven’t received my incidental deposit back. People should beware. The place smelled of mildew and feet, and the elevator reeked of cigarettes. One bed had red spots on it. The front desk attendant was rude: she raised her voice at my children, then, after noticing me, yelled at me while I was walking to the pool. This hotel needs a serious update and has terrible hospitality. It’s in a nice part of town, but this was very bad business.

At $215 a night, I expected a much cleaner room. The carpet felt sticky and badly needed a deep shampoo, so we kept our shoes on the whole time to avoid touching it. The bathroom wasn’t clean either. There was mildew on the shower curtain with some unknown brown substance, and the bottom of the tub was filthy, with dirty footprints visible. When we arrived, the room smelled musty, like dirty feet. La Quinta used to be our favorite place when traveling, but it’s gone downhill. I don’t know whether the owners have changed, but they need to get things together or they’ll lose their reputation as a great hotel.

The location was nice and the service was pretty decent. Most of the room seemed clean, but there were bugs. I saw one the first night and wasn’t too worried since it wasn’t a roach. The second night, though, there was a roach in the bathroom. I have no idea how it got in. Wish I could rate the place higher.

The room was spacious and clean, though I did find hair in the drain. The location was great, check-in was quick, and the staff were nice. I like La Quinta Inns, and this one didn’t disappoint. I used points to pay, so I can’t complain. Thanks!
