I should've read the reviews first. I came here to get some peace away from home, but didn't find it. At check-in after 8 p.m., I was told the room keys had been having trouble staying programmed, and that if my room wasn't clean I could come back and ask for another. At that hour, cleanliness shouldn't have been in question. Soon after settling in, I had to return to have the key reprogrammed. Then I spotted a big roach crawling on the fridge door while putting food away and killed it. Later, after walking my daughter out, I came back and the key had stopped working again. The phone was placed by the outside entrance, away from the lobby, where anyone could walk in. That felt VERY UNSAFE. Instead of connecting me to the on-call representative, they put me through to someone who contacted the person living on site to reprogram the keys. She didn't wait to check whether it worked, and it didn't. Since I had work the next morning, I knocked on her door rather than going through another hold and wait. The next day, I asked to have the key reprogrammed again in case it had failed, and told the desk about the bug. They switched my room, but I still couldn't get into it to reach my things, and the first thing I saw in the new room was a dead roach. The desk representative said they'd been having that problem, maintenance wouldn't arrive until 8 a.m., there was no emergency on-call person, and the on-site representative wasn't answering the phone or door. She also couldn't reach the manager. I kept trying the door until I finally got in. This place is very UNPROFESSIONAL. If they don't care about hospitality, they shouldn't be open. I'll NEVER stay here again, and I don't recommend it to anyone.

The front desk staff are polite and willing to help, but there are bigger problems that need attention. The furniture needs an upgrade, the doors need work, and the rooms smell like animals. It also needs a cleaning crew more often than once every two weeks. The Wi-Fi is probably some of the worst I've had. I think I may have found some illegal stuff, too.

The hot water and shower pressure were great, and the laundry room was useful: you pay through an app and it tracks when your clothes will be done down to the minute. The young man at the desk was extremely nice. Those were about the only positives in a 12-day stay that I never would have booked if I'd read the reviews first. Housekeeping never came to my room, and I'm not sure they even have a housekeeping service. The carpet on the way to the room was stained, moldy, and covered with sticks the whole time. The halls smelled of filth, regret, and marijuana. In the kitchen there wasn't even a plastic fork or spoon, so bring your own. The furniture was shredded and the walls were crusted with who knows what. I was given two paper-thin washcloths and towels. When I asked after two days where to get more, I was told to take the old ones to the desk and buy new ones. The phone in my room didn't work, so I couldn't call the desk. The front desk isn't staffed around the clock. After the day ends, you're on your own. The motel is beside the interstate and a train, and that's all you hear. The lobby had just a table and chairs, with no breakfast or bottled water. The gym doors were locked. There were shady-looking people inside and outside, and I never felt safe. I also found two positive things here. The place is right by the interstate and a train, so you hear those all the time. The young man at the desk was very nice. That's about it. I found two positive things here: the shower, with consistently hot water and great pressure, and the laundry room, where an app handles payment and gives a minute-by-minute finish time. The young man at the front desk was extremely nice too. My car broke down on I65 on the way to Louisville and needs a new transmission, so I tried to save money on a cheaper hotel. It wasn't even cheap: my last five nights cost $690. That's a $59-a-night hotel at best. Some reviews said it felt like home. Maybe this place is your home. I agree with one reviewer who compared it to a low-income projects area or something like that. I have photos, and the same stains, door holes, torn-up furniture, and other problems people posted about IN MAY were still there. If they wanted to fix things, these problems wouldn't still be around six months later. It's the worst place I've stayed in my life. Don't bring kids here.

Whitney and Lina are the standouts at the ESA Louisville airport location. They follow their assigned duties closely, stay polite, and are quick to go above and beyond when something can be accommodated. You can see them doing laundry, cleaning, mopping, sweeping, and taking care of trash and stairwells. They politely keep people in line, explain things, and follow the process of checking with someone higher up if they don't know an answer. When those two are working, the whole experience is amazing. The other staff are an eight out of ten. Most of the staff are prompt and provide great service.
