Baymont by Wyndham Lubbock

The young man who checked me in was super nice. That's my one positive. After driving over four and a half hours, I would've liked a clean, quiet room, but the whole hotel was disgusting and noisy from the road. I thought I'd booked Baymont by Wyndham online, but we pulled up to a Best Windsor. The key cards said Baymont by Wyndham, the sign on the building said Best Windsor Inn, and the room map said Best Western Plus, Windsor Inn. I still don't know what hotel this is. The online photos looked nothing like the real place. At check-in, two women with two teenage girls were arguing with the clerk and asking for a refund so they could leave. They said their room was nasty and filthy, with bugs and trash on the floor. I figured they'd been given a room that hadn't been cleaned yet, so I checked in anyway. My room looked clean at first, but it had problems too. My husband, son, and I booked a double room, which had only two thin, threadbare towels. The tub wouldn't drain, leaving nasty water above my ankles by the end of a shower, and the sink wouldn't drain either. The outlet cover was broken and missing. The phones had no dial tone, but rang at random, two rings at a time, so we unplugged them. There was one washcloth but no soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, or other complimentary toiletries. The hallways and elevator were filthy, and there were no fire extinguishers in the wall cabinets. The decorative wall fountain was empty, with mold over the glass. Breakfast ended at 9:30. The coffee and juice machines didn't work, there was no fruit, and the few muffins were hard. The breakfast was okay anyway because they had eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, and waffles. I'd tried to give the place some grace and assumed the first guests had just gotten an overlooked room. I thought a Wyndham would be nice, but it wasn't.
