Candlewood Suites - Syracuse Airport by IHG

We stayed two nights and got no extra towels, even after asking several times. There were only two in the room, and housekeeping barely picked up any trash during the stay. The walls and dishwasher were dirty, and the carpets were stained. I didn’t see roaches in our room, but I overheard a guest saying he had complained about roaches four times. Not nice at all, and I won’t stay here again.

We arrived late, and the manager was friendly and helpful at first. Outside our room there was a huge amount of trash and dirty laundry. I understood that hospitality staff are stretched thin, so that alone wasn’t a deal-breaker. We went back to the desk to check we had the right room, and we did. When we asked for another room and explained how unpleasant the doorway was, the ‘manager’ responded with a shocking attitude. I could say more about how shabby the whole hotel felt, but this place was unhygienic, outdated, and disgusting. Do not stay here.

There’s no diner, so you’ll need to make your own meals or find a nearby restaurant. The hotel is about a three-minute ride from Syracuse airport, with shuttle service available. The rooms had good amenities, service was great, and the rate felt fair for what was provided.

Parking was decent, and the hotel is very close to the airport. The rooms look straight out of the 90s, though. Mine was missing an office chair, both faucets leaked, and being near the mechanical room was very noisy. There’s no soundproofing, so you hear doors slamming all night. Hopefully the planned improvements will take care of some of this.
