Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Lubbock Southwest, TX

The staff were nice, but the hotel had an odd smell and the A/C barely cooled the room. The accessible room's roll-in shower was a joke. My husband needed an accessible shower after leg surgery, but the bathroom door opens across the shower door. There's barely enough room to maneuver a wheelchair or knee scooter. Just a heads-up for anyone who needs it.

The bed was hard as a rock, the floors were filthy, and the sink and toilet were clogged. There was dried water all over the sink, hair in the shower, and the microwave was disgusting. I even had to ask for basics that should've been in the room, like towels, coffee cups and trash bags. I checked in at the last minute without reading the reviews carefully, and I wish I had. The room was absolutely disgusting. Worst hotel stay I've ever had. I'll be contacting my credit card company because this place shouldn't keep my money after that. Beware.

Kimberly, the day manager, and the rest of the front desk team made the stay for me. They're all friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make things better. A rude person in the parking lot who wasn't a paying guest needed help dealing with, and an employee assisted me. When kids played knock-and-run, I told the desk and the employee seemed genuinely concerned. I also saw housekeeping thoroughly cleaning rooms, and the desk staff cleaned up spills or mud tracked in. Guests can be the ones who mess up the carpet and property. I booked through an online site and didn't know which hotel I'd get. I stayed for a while and highly recommend this one, faults and all. I liked the free breakfast and the 24-hour fire pit, which has a wall timer so you can enjoy it anytime for as many minutes as you want. They have two wheeled luggage carts and a lobby TV with an extensive channel list. The beds are very firm, but they're Sertas and comfortable for me. I'll stay here again.

I stayed from Friday through Monday during bad weather, and left Tuesday, January 27, 2026. I never got a Do Not Disturb sign. The front desk didn't have any during my entire stay, and staff came into my room without warning and rearranged my things, including my clothes, shaver and soap. I felt violated, especially as a woman traveling alone. I filed a ticket, though I don't expect them to do anything. My pajamas had been moved too. If staff entered whenever they wanted, how can I know they weren't doing it in the middle of the night? The top lock was broken the whole time, and from my higher floor I heard creaking throughout the building. Then I tried breakfast Tuesday morning and wish I hadn't. The eggs tasted rotten, the yogurt smelled rotten, and the bread tasted old. The refrigerated items were in-date but going bad; the fridge was constantly at 40 degrees. If the hotel can't afford to fix that or doesn't care, I don't know how they're handling food safety. If they're serving food, they should be properly food-certified in America and care about what they give guests. I repeat, don't eat here. If you have to stay, buy food somewhere else.
