Towneplace Suites By Marriott

We were there for four nights in early January. The beds were decent, the kitchenette was handy, and parking was free, unlike at another Marriott in the area. Breakfast was the usual free hotel fare. The staff were friendly and helpful, but we still wouldn’t return. Our first room had no toilet paper, not enough towels, and a TV that didn’t work at check-in. They fixed those things that night, though getting the TV going took a few trips. The walls are very thin. When a family of six moved in next door, it felt like we were all sharing one room. We switched to a room facing the freeway, so then there was road noise, and we could still hear the next family’s movements and muffled conversations.

The breakfast had a nice range of tasty options, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well cared for. At TownePlace Suites in Lubbock, Texas, the customer service was friendly and helpful from beginning to end, which made it easy to relax after a long day. I had a great stay and would come back and recommend it to others.

We slept well in our two-bedroom suite and woke up refreshed. There was plenty of space, a kitchen with everything we needed, and comfortable beds. The bathroom samples were a nice little touch, and I was really happy with the view. It felt luxurious to us. Breakfast was free and had waffles, coffee, bagels, cereal, and dessert. I ate my fair share and was stuffed. Thanks for a great stay, we’ll definitely be back! A++ :⁠-⁠)

The staff were some of the nicest I’ve met on my recent travels, but the rest of the hotel left me confused about whether it was just opening, partway through a remodel, or shutting down. I was there for three nights while my son was at Lubbock Heart Hospital. The pool area was a mess, with leaves in the hot tub and broken lights that seemed like a safety hazard. Breakfast choices were limited every day, and I wondered if they were cutting corners. The fitness center was closed with no equipment. The flooring was badly done, with big gaps by doors and edges. The first night there was plenty of toilet paper and paper towels. They had just one coffee carafe, so when it ran out you had to wait, and I heard staff say they’d asked for another. The dining chairs were cheap, and one was coming apart at every joint, as if it would collapse if I sat in it. They’ll save themselves out of business.
