Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Lucedale

We stayed back in May on our way to Florida with our 12-year-old lab, and I still feel bad that I’m only writing this now. The room was clean and comfortable, and the dog-friendly room on the first floor opened right onto an area for walking the dog. I think the desk clerk’s name was crystall? She made us feel welcome and even gave us that feeling of being welcomed to town. Breakfast was on time, clean, and really good. It was a great stay, and we’re thinking of coming back to visit the area.

It can be tough to find a decent affordable place when I come down to the MS coast, so I’m glad we found this spot for our recent trip. Denise was warm and professional when we checked in, and the rooms were tidy. The staff were friendly and the location felt safe. I’ll stay here again on future trips.

There was a dark brown ring about four inches wide around the tub, and beneath the bath mat I found black mold. Bugs were flying around the room and bit when they landed on you. The place was filthy and nasty. I’m planning to send the information and photos to the local health department and the CEO of IHG. Don’t waste your time or money here.

The room smelled moldy, and the carpet and floors felt wet. The bathroom floor had buckled, with the LVP flooring starting to separate, apparently after getting wet. I also found hairs in the bathtub, and the bathroom didn’t seem clean. There’s major construction going on, and this hotel shouldn’t be open to guests. I just hope we don’t get sick from staying here.
