Courtyard Lufkin

The staff were attentive, and the lobby looked like what I expect from Courtyard Marriotts around the US. I used points for a Thanksgiving night stay. At $185, I figured you normally get what you pay for, but the room was poor value for that price. A panhandler in the parking lot asked me for money for food and travel to see her family. Room 303 was clean but in serious disrepair. Every piece of furniture was cracked, chipped, patched up, or damaged. There was severe water damage above the AC that had been painted over. The bathroom was worst: the towel rod was coming off the wall, the body wash bottle fell when touched, and silicone or caulk had been used to cover damage. The shower curtain was too short, so water spread across the floor and made it slippery. I’ve stayed in worse places, but this room wasn’t worth premium pricing in Lufkin, TX. I expect more from brands like Marriott and Hilton, especially with how much I travel. They should lower the rates or renovate. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it at these prices.

We stayed February 6-8 in room 212, and I left my blanket behind. The front desk staff were so kind: they contacted my husband about it and are sending it to us. Katherine also helped us. With staff like that, you can’t go wrong. Great hotel and team. 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

The rooms look very nice, but the service was awful. My room had roaches and was missing soap, face towels, and liners for the ice cooler. Housekeeping didn’t change my sheets or restock those items after “cleaning.” I complained at the front desk. I was on a business trip, and some of my coworkers also complained about poor room service. One said his bed wasn’t even made. I admit I accidentally stained the comforter with the iron. But the photos of the supposed damage were appalling. It looked like the iron had been left on the bed for several minutes, and there was similar damage to the floor. I swear I didn’t do that. I believe the housekeeper caused it and blamed me because I complained about her twice. That felt like payback. I wonder how many others have been accused of damage she actually caused. Stay clear of this place. There are vindictive people working there.
