Sleep Inn Lufkin

The front desk women were wonderful and so helpful when my family and I returned to Lufkin after my father-in-law passed away. A few weeks earlier, we’d been there because he was sick and had received amazing service, so we wanted to stay here again. Sleep Inn was booked the first night, so we had to stay elsewhere, and that hotel was a bad experience. I called Sleep Inn the next morning, and they gave my family a suite. The women at the desk stood and talked with me about everything we’d been through and looked up places that would deliver food. Thank you so much, Sleep Inn. You’re all wonderful!

I stayed one night early in Thanksgiving week, and everything was great. There was a torrential rain and lightning storm that night. The lights flickered a few times, then the power went out for several seconds before coming back.

I was there for two nights, and the stay was terrible. The first room smelled awful, like dampness, something old, and feet. I went straight back to the desk to ask for a change because I couldn’t spend two nights with that smell. The replacement room smelled unpleasant too, though not as strong. When I returned to the desk, they said it was the only room available. Since it was already late, I had to stay. They took a deposit, and a week later I still haven’t gotten it back. On top of that, they charged me an extra $15 two days ago, for no reason that I know of. The woman at the front desk on the morning shift was very rude. I don’t recommend this hotel at all.

I’ve been coming and going and staying at Mainstay or The Sleep. Some housekeepers on the 2nd and 3rd floors don’t do what they’re supposed to, though I’ve also had a different housekeeper who goes above and beyond. I met a woman named Tonya, and she’s amazing! The thing is, I know her work compared with the others, which is sloppy. I left her a tip, but how do I know she got it? The way tips are handled is wrong. She deserved it, not the others!
