Ramada Luling

The breakfast was disappointing, and the pool looked green and brown, like it hadn’t been cleaned. The hall carpets were filthy, even though the room floors had new laminate, and the outside doors were left unlocked through the night. It was clear they were remodeling. The morning we left, workers started laying flooring in the room next door at 8:30, with banging, hammering, loud talking, and music. Our first room smelled damp and musty, had visible mold, and the bathroom door was water damaged. The shower swung between scalding hot and freezing cold. They moved us, but the shower handle in the second room wasn’t attached. The third and last room available also had visible mold and water damage on the bathroom door, plus a nasty shower curtain and only one working bathroom light. Horrible experience.

The location worked well for my meeting, about a 12 minute drive in traffic. The room itself was nice, but the TV didn’t work because some cables were missing, so I went my entire stay without one. The hallway and floor were stained, the old carpet was stained too, and the ceiling was only partly patched. The bathroom light fixture had rusty, old metal. The pool was dark green and nasty, so it wasn’t usable during my stay. Other guests and I were told money had been set aside for these problems, but management couldn’t get the owners to make the repairs. It was shocking and reflects badly on Ramada as a company. Sadly, Ramada is missing out on money from people who might stay.

The staff were nice, but the hallways were filthy. I stayed three nights, and breakfast was hit or miss, one day there was meat and the next there wasn’t. The room was okay, though there was no room service. I had to ask for towels, the bed was never made, and the trash can had no liner.

I was really disappointed. The bed in my first assigned room had dirty sheets with several human hairs on them, as the attached pictures show. I told the front desk assistant and got moved, but the second room had the same problem and more. Since reimbursement can be such a slow, difficult process, I went to the closest store, which wasn’t actually close, bought sheets, and put them on myself so I could sleep in a clean bed. I’ll leave it at that and let the photos show what happened. I’ve stayed in cheaper hotels that were much cleaner and more decent. A place can be poor without being dirty.
