Hyatt Place Tampa/Wesley Chapel

Cynthia in the breakfast area made us feel especially cared for. She greeted us warmly, helped us find what we needed, and when we asked for grits, she happily went and made them herself. She even told us to come back the next morning and she’d make them again. The whole staff were helpful and courteous. We were pleased with every part of the stay: the location made it easy to get to our plans, the hotel was lovely, and our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable.

The free overnight car charger was a great perk, even though it’s slow at 6 kWh and took more than 10 hours. Breakfast was well above average for a continental spread, with donut holes, French toast, and tortillas as nice extras. The king room was spotless, spacious, thoughtfully designed, and in good condition, with blackout shades that worked well. Check-in went fairly smoothly, though I waited a little while because the card machine wasn’t working for the person ahead of me. I like that they can use the card saved to my account to make things faster. The highway was a bit noisy, but it didn’t keep me awake like it has at other hotels. This was a very clean hotel, and I wish every Hyatt met this standard.

Faye in the lobby and bar area was a real asset, and the hotel was clean, convenient, and had free breakfast. We were in town to tour apartments, but the stay had some frustrating moments. We waited an hour past check-in for a room that was already available, then housekeeping and maintenance each came into the room without knocking. One delivered hand towels we hadn’t asked for, and the other checked the air conditioner, also unrequested. After breakfast, my keys had stopped working because they thought I’d checked out, even though it was only 9:00am. Still, the stay was fine overall.

The room was clean and quiet, and I didn’t notice any road noise. Breakfast in the morning was good, and the staff were so nice that they noticed it was my birthday weekend and had a small something for me. The location is convenient, with Outlets directly across the street and plenty of food choices nearby. I’d stop again if I’m in the area.
